Je vous écris de Verdun...
The creative team behind Les Nuits d’Aldéarde has taken on a new challenge for summer 2026: to create an original show dedicated to the early 20th century in Airvault and France.
Our goal? To share and delight!
Our reward? Your smile!
This new show will take you on a journey through an era that is at once moving, elegant, and full of joy.
Let yourself be swept away in a whirlwind of good humor and history: a unique opportunity to rediscover a not-so-distant past, awakening childhood memories and the stories of yesteryear passed down by our parents and grandparents…
Teaser for the 2026 show

Once upon a time...
In 1905, in Airvault, Édouard and Anna's house echoed with the laughter of a close-knit family. Around them, generations mingled: a grandmother who had come from Bressuire to ease her loneliness, a devoted Marie-Louise who watched over the children as if they were her own…
But the course of history was about to change everything.
Less than ten years later, Europe was engulfed in flames. The First World War swept away Paul and André, the eldest sons, who volunteered to join the ranks of the French infantrymen.
In the hell of the trenches, from Verdun to the Battle of the Somme, they discovered fear, mud, the roar of shells… and the fragile glimmer of hope.
Meanwhile, in Airvault, the waiting became a silent ordeal.
When the Armistice finally sounded, nothing would ever be the same again.
Will they return ?
And if so… at what cost ?
A poignant story about a family in the heart of the village, the courage of the soldiers, and the return of joy after the ordeal.
An intimate glimpse into an era that forever changed the destiny of
our families.
